Giving Back – Your Membership Dollars At Work

Special Report: S.O.S. Villages sponsorships update.
It is with great pleasure and pride that I provide to you, our members and staff, an update on how our sponsored children are doing. Every six months or so I receive an update on all of our sponsored children and am happy to report that there has recently been some very exciting news passed along that I would like to pass on to you. Although we post most of these reports on the bulletin board, I realize that a lot of members don’t pay much attention to what’s posted there and because we have so many new members joining constantly, most of whom are not even aware of how long we have been sponsoring these under privileged children with your membership dollars I thought because of the recent news of a few of our sponsored children that I would relay this information here in our newsletter.
Being in this industry for most of my adult life, I often experienced great pride and satisfaction in helping people with their health and well being. Approximately twelve years ago or so, I committed to helping children outside of our local area on behalf of our members, through charities and organizations such as Children Believe, S.O.S. Villages, Operation Smile and Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. Having sponsored several children in the S.O.S. Villages for many years now, some of them have gone through primary school, graduated to secondary school, some in high school now and even some preparing for university, something that would have never happened to those children if it wasn’t for our sponsorships on your behalf. The children living in the S.O.S. Villages are either orphaned, or have lost one of their parents so the single parent did not have the resources to continue to raise that child. The S.O.S. Villages provides these children with clean shelter, proper nutrition, health care, education and a loving environment for as long as they need it.
Here’s the most recent news:
Our sponsored child Melchoir Hausiku has left the care of S.O.S. Villages. He has been reunited with his biological mother whose situation has improved and now has the ability and resources to continue to raise her son. Melchoir is currently in high school preparing for university where he will pursue a degree in mining engineering or computer science.
Our sponsored child Bertha has also left the care of S.O.S. Villages and has been reunited with her biological grandmother whose situation has improved and now has the ability and resources to continue to raise her granddaughter. Bertha is currently attending secondary school and aspires to pursue a career in beauty therapy.
Although our sponsorship with these two children has ended, the Village will continue to support them as long as needed and we have taken on two new children to sponsor in their place. Their introductions and pictures will be posted on the bulletin board.
Be proud of your membership at G&M Fitness. Your dollars are doing more good than you realize.
Thank you for your continued support,
Gino
